el_salvadorEl Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America, and many of the country's people live in extreme poverty in poorly constructed homes. When Hurricane Ida hit this already troubled country, over 16,000 homes were destroyed. Thousands of people with no place to call home was not something we could ignore.

We have experienced building homes in El Salvador for Seven Years...

Our home building skills meant we could make a dramatic impact, and we definitely put our skills to work. In December of 2010, Stepper Homes provided the funding for 40 employees and spouses to go to El Salvador. The mission? To build 16 homes in 20 days!

When we left El Salvador we knew we had changed lives forever, including our own. But there were so many more people who still needed help. We didn't forget them, so we returned for more in January 2012 through 2017. We've also made a video of our experience and what it means to us!

We have recently wrapped up our 7th trip to El Salvador, and have frequently shared posts of the ongoing adventure. We completed another 48 homes over 2 weeks, which will bring our total homes built in El Salvador to well over 350! If you want to know more about our journey, visit our Facebook page to see the stories and photos. We look forward to our next visit with the wonderful, welcoming people of El Salvador.

A video from our partners at Shelter Canada...

We have partnered with Shelter Canada to help organize our trips to El Salvador. In the time we have been building, Shelter has received many questions about what the impact is on the people who receive these homes. For a wonderful example, visit our Youtube page and find out more about Pimpa, Arsenio, and Basillio and how their homes have created hope and transformed their lives. These homes provide safety, comfort and hope for each of these families, and so many more.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these trips possible...

On September 18, 2017 we held our 8th Annual Stepper Foundation Golf Classic, sponsored by Wiehler Mechanical at Country Hills Golf Course. We had a beautiful day, and enjoyed getting to hang out with our incredibly supportive trade partners! All money raised will go directly to our annual fundraising for our 2018 trips! Thank you to all of our 2018 Home, Hole, and other sponsors for all of their support!
