Now Building in El Salvador!

print page

El Salvador is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America, and many of the country's people live in extreme poverty in poorly constructed homes. When Hurricane Ida hit this already troubled country, over 16,000 homes were destroyed. Thousands of people with no place to call home was not something we could ignore.

2010 marked our first journey.

Our home building skills meant we could make a dramatic impact, and we definitely put our skills to work. In December of 2010, Stepper Custom Homes provided the funding for 40 employees and spouses to go to El Salvador. The mission? To build 16 homes in 20 days! To witness the incredible journey from start to finish, view the video.

Two more trips have happened in 2012!

When we left El Salvador we knew we had changed lives forever, including our own. But there were so many more people who still needed help. We haven't forgotten them, and we've returned from another group trip that happened in January 2012. Our goal was to build another 18 homes, as well as supply food and other necessities, and we have accomplished it! Our groups kept in touch by updating our blog on a regular basis. Go check it out!

On September 12, 2011 we had our 2nd Annual Stepper Foundation Golf Classic at Country Hills Golf Course. Despite the cooler weather we had all our sponsors show up for a great day of golf! Through the tournament, silent auction and 50/50 tickets we raised enough money to buy the materials for the 18 homes we built this time. A big THANK YOU to our Home Sponsors, Hole Sponsors and Other Sponsors and Contributors to the cause. We would not have been able to do it without you.
